Games

  • Front end developer at Mind Candy working on the awesome Moshi Monsters – a game for kids (and big kids) where users can adopt a pet monster to look after. I spend the majority of my time working in AS3, with occasional dabbling in Flex and Java.
  • Co-worked on improving a simple 3D “Asteroids” game for the Playstation 2, using OpenGL and C++. This used a framework provided by the Nottingham Trent University.
  • Independently, two simple 2D games were developed in C++ using the GWin library – a simple version of “Space Invaders” and a game called “Cat and Mouse” (based on PacMan). A simple car racing game was also implemented in C++ with GWin as part of a group project at university.
  • Simple Flash games such as Egg Roll

AI, NLP

  • Implementation of a recurrent neural network used to forecast foreign exchange rates. The RNN was implemented with the assistance of Jonathan Tepper from the Nottingham Trent University. Once trained, and after numerous configurations were trialed, the developed network out-performed the benchmark academic paper. This neural network was implemented in C++.
  • A chatbot based on Weizenbaum’s Eliza program. This implementation was focused on providing club and event details based on information provided on NottsClubbing.co.uk. Users are able to converse with the program, which detects certain keywords, and “remembers” discussion topics in order to provide the required information. Currently implemented in C++ (MFC) – with aims to eventually improve the functionality and provide this as a web application.

Achievements

  • Named as one of Develop Magazine’s 30 under 30 in January 2010.

Wow, you rarely see a girl so involved in software development these days… I’d like to shake your hand. :)
