The Worldwide Photo walk is an annual event organised by Scott Kelby. Photowalks take place all over the world on the same day and there are competitions for the best photographs taken during walks. It is essential to register for the event in order to participate in the competitions and stay up to date on any venue/time changes. You can register here.
For the Perth Photo Walk will meet outside the Fergusson Gallery at (1pm). This is right next to the South Inch car park for those wishing to drive. From there, we will walk along the riverside to the South Street Bridge where we will cross to take photos of the river/city before heading to Rodney Gardens which is a beautiful spot by the river and will hopefully have some lovely autumnal colours. From Rodney Gardens we will walk north along the A85 side of the river to cross back over to the city at Smeaton’s Bridge. This is another great opportunity to photograph the city and river. Once across the bridge we will head into the North Inch Park which is great for photographing trees/plants/people. There are also some interesting statues which are fun to photograph. After the park we will head back into central Perth which is only a short walk and will provide some opportunity for street photography and a chance to see some of Perth’s beautiful historic buildings. We will navigate our way around the small city centre and complete the photo walk at the Sandeman Pub on Kinnoull Street at around 3pm.
The Sandeman Pub is family friendly and serves food, so this is a good opportunity for some socialising after the event. This will then leave further time afterwards should anyone wish to do some evening photography having become familiar with the layout of the city (sunset is at around 6:30pm).
Walk times are estimated but should allow plenty of time for people to take photos and explore the various locations. The approximate walk length is 1.5miles and people are welcome to join us at any point on the walk. I’ll update the description on the official page with a more detailed breakdown of the locations/times nearer the time.
