The editor of The Perthshire Magazine, Abigail, recently joined me for an “Understanding Your Camera” photography workshop. Since she was keen to try photographing a few different subjects, we went to the wonderful Kinnoull Hill in Perth. This enabled us to try everything from macro to animals to landscapes!
Abigail did very well on the workshop. Having not used the camera before, we slowly transitioned from automatic to aperture/shutter priority and within no time she was shooting on manual! She’s a very quick learner and it was great to see her confidence grow in such a short space of time.
She got some great shots during the session and has continued practicing her skills since. Here are some of her favourite photographs that she’s taken so far!
It was an absolute pleasure to teach Abigail and see her progress so quickly with her photography!
After the workshop, they were kind enough to write a wonderful review for the magazine which you can read below:
If you would like help with your photography, please feel free to get in touch. All workshops are offered on a private 1-1 basis so you can learn at your own pace. Or if you prefer, why not bring along a friend to share the day with you?

On Thanksgiving Thursday (27th Nov 2014) I had my first set of images published by the press, and not just any press, but the biggest selling newspaper in the UK! My images from Bodie (the ghost town in California) were published on their travel website along with a story and some details about my trip there.
Having some of my images published was incredibly exciting!
