On a hazy morning, the trees on the far side of Loch Rannoch merge into a patch of woodland. With the exception of the towering six, it’s hard to see where one tree ends and another begins.
These six trees stand like giants amongst the crowd. Easily double or triple the height of their neighbours, they are towering columns, standing proudly for all to see.
Their dark foliage emphasises their grandeur, easily differentiating them from the smaller trees at their feet.
Perthshire is known as Big Tree Country, and while these six may pale in significance to other trees locally, they still make their mark on the eastern side of Loch Rannoch.
