Session Time: 9am-12pm (3hrs)
Price: £50 per person
Maximum class size: 6 people per class
Join Cat in the beautiful setting of Comrie Croft for a morning of nature photography. Comrie Croft is set on a hill in rural Perthshire and has wonderful woodland walks, hilltop views and a variety of wildlife and farm animals to photograph. All camera types are welcome for this workshop and it’s intended to cater to all levels of photography.
During the workshop, Cat will show you the best places to take photographs at the Croft and will help guide you with which camera settings will be best for your camera and how to make a beautiful composition.
This is a group class (maximum of 6) and people of all abilities are welcome. Ages 12 and up are welcome. Any children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a fully paying adult. If you have any questions or concerns or need specific help, please contact me prior to the event.
9:00am – 9:30am – Upon arriving at Comrie Croft, we’ll meet in the main building near reception. You’ll receive a map of the Croft’s trails and Cat will give a quick introduction with tips and advice on how to take beautiful photos. She will then tell you the plan of where we’ll be walking and will spend some time with each of you finding out what your skill level is and if there’s anything specific you need help with.
9:30am – 12:00pm – We’ll take a slow walk around Comrie Croft, taking in the beautiful natural views and practicing photography. Cat will be on hand to help you get the best images and to provide feedback along the way.
12:00pm – The session ends and we’ll head back to the main building in time for lunch (not provided), where the cafe will be open. Cat will be on hand to give any final feedback or help if needed.
After the session ends, you are welcome to explore Comrie Croft on your own to try out your photography skills. Should you wish to explore further, the website has plenty of information on local hiking trails: http://www.comriecroft.com/hike-and-bike/walking-trails.html
- Attendees need to be comfortable with a few steps and walking hilly outdoors areas.
- Please bring your camera and any equipment you wish to use (such as tripods). Remember to charge your camera!
- Please dress appropriately for the weather, with comfortable walking shoes and waterproofs if needed. If it has been raining, it may well be a little muddy, so wellies or waterproof footwear is a good idea.
