How It Was Made

The castle shown here is Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe in Scotland

The three birds were added in post production using Photoshop, as was the snowfall.

Care was taken to painstakingly remove any modern elements from the original photograph, including the railings, a boat jetty and power cables in the background.
