How It Was Made

The castle is Eilean Donan which can be seen when driving to the Isle of Skye in Scotland.

I had planned to stop to take a photo but the weather had been awful. Thankfully the rain stopped briefly to enable me to catch this shot of the castle with the rain behind it - separating it from the landscape behind.

I added the red kite in post production. The bird had been photographed in the wild in the Scottish Highlands and I think they are so beautiful. It adds a majestic element and some movement to the final image.

I like to think that the bird may be carrying a message to someone in the castle, a sort of fantasy version of a carrier pigeon!
